Well, if you want to stick strictly with fleetguard, I would highly recommend paying the few bucks more for a "Stratapore" lube filter. These are the ones with the smaller / more uniform pores you speak of. I run an LF16035 on my Cummins, I don't know if it'd be the same filter for your 5.9. The stratepores are some of the best out there, you don't get much better filtering unless you do a bypass filter setup. As for baldwin and luberfiner, I have no experience with those filters and I've never seen beta ratings for them (or the fleetguard unit) so I couldn't tell you how good they are relative to each other. But I've heard nothing but good things with either product
