....same here. 6 years regardless of tread wear (or less). Changed a set of BFG TA/Ko tires out at 2.5 years (premature cracking on sidewalls and around tread).

That's what I've read the manufacturers consider the life of the tire.

Therefore I do not cover my tires and just change them out on that schedule,
the bean counters at Michelin, Firestone, etc. know far more about tire aging than I do.

The "bean counters" would prefer that you not protect your tires from the sun. That way they can sell you tires more frequently.

PS I've done that for at least the last 35 years and in that time have not had a blowout, or sudden flat, only an occasional slow leak due to nails.

I know you would rather have silver but white will be temperature wise cooler and better for your tires. We bought elastic backed slip ons from Camping World, years back. A study was done on dark versus white and temperature affects on the tire. Darker colors can be damaging. There is nothing magic about the tire covers. Depending on how you use them a piece (or pieces)of plywood would protect them just as well as official vinyl covers.

Ditto on these. I've had these on my trailer for years, but be sure to check the tension on the wire rod. Mine wrapped around the back of the tire enough I felt confident that they'd stay put in the winds we sometimes get up here living on a hilltop. We got some gusts in the 65+ range a few months back and I later found that one cover parted company sometime the night before. Never have found that thing!

I would buy the white covers. Im not aware of tire covers in colors other than black/white. You need to use an acrylic flex vinyl paint to make them silver to match your truck.
