PSI when using higher load range tires.

My trailer had 4, D load range tires. From advice of many friends I've up graded to E load range. Just got a set of Good Year Endurance with max PSI of 80. Previous tires and trailer sticker says PSI 65.

Should I run 65, 80 or other PSI?

Visually the Load Range E look better at 80 PSI without a slight bulge.

  • Can be run at lower inflation with reduced load rating or run at max pressure to have max rating.
I would run 75-80 unless there was a handling issue.
  • Many people say run them at max sidewall pressure. But manufacturers post load vs pressure charts for a reason.
  • Download the tire inflation chart for your new tires.
Weigh your rig equipped for the road.
Use tire pressure from inflation chart. I go 5 pounds over for a safety factor.
