PU Bed Lining

I have never understood the bed lining philosophy except if you like the looks. I have heard many say they want them to protect the bed, I don't get that, if you drop something hard or heavy enough to dent the bed it will still dent it with a bed liner. Also slide in types ruin the paint due to the movements, spray it in well obviously you ruined the paint to spray it in. So the only reason to put one in is because you like the looks more than the matching paint from the factory, but then a year or so later they look terrible due to the fading.

I don't like the looks of bed liners so I don't use them.
