Yes they did and that was at least 10 years ago now. Ford didn't need them then or sell as many so they did retire them and they don't need them now. I'm just wondering why GM is still doing so especially when the trucks are identical other than the badging. It just baffles me.
The Blackwood was just a Ford with a bunch of worse than useless bling thrown on it, nothing functional. Plus they marked up the price an absurd amount. They seem to doing much better with the new Limited, King Ranch and some others that don't look that much different from the other Fords but the extra stuff does have perceived function and value. They can't seem to make enough of those even though I see complaints all the time about how much trucks cost now.
Maybe but not necessarily. I worked for a company that made the frame components of the Ford Escape and the Lincoln MKX. The frame part that goes in front of the door and going over the door was noticeably heavier and I'm sure would it fare better in an impact. There were a few other differences in the frames but nothing that I could see that would make it a better vehicle. - carringbExplorer

Have you not seen them? - GrooverExplorer II

Dodge deserves lots of credit for moving from a distant third place in sales not that long ago to a very strong position.

I can't believe how much trouble GM seems to be having with sales on the new trucks. They have claimed that it is just production issues but I have seen some heavy discounts on them already. By the time GM gets production in full swing Ford will have a lot of new models coming out and GM will have missed a great opportunity to grow market share. - GrooverExplorer II

There are a few other trims and colors that look much better than the pictures.

I still don't understand why GM makes the Chevy and GMC pickup trucks under 2 different names still at this day.
Reason is in case one of them makes a hideous looking truck you still have a choice in the GM family. ;)
Dan
So they will make 2 hideous looking trucks because they both have been exactly the same truck for the last how many decades now ?!?!?
That was a joke based on the new 2020 HD's coming out, I'm assuming you haven't looked at them yet or followed the many threads on the subject otherwise you would have caught the joke I'm sure. Not to many people are in love with the 2020 Chevy HD's but the GMC HD's look pretty good. Big difference in the looks.
