- bluie5ExplorerIf we’re just passing through and only spending one night we like the quick in and out of a pull through. If we’re going to be there awhile then we like the back in.
- GordonThreeExplorerBack in, they tend to be wider vs pull through which are long and narrow. At least in Michigan State Parks
- wildtoadExplorer IIPull through mainly so don’t have to unhook toad until I want or need to.
- downtheroadExplorerPull through sites are popular because some folks are not comfortable or not skilled at backing up their trailers.
- 1320FastbackExplorerNo preference other than they have enough room for the required maneuver.
I do agree back in's tend to be wider and more room for patio activities. - rhagfoExplorer IIIWell I prefer back-in, even when it requires backing down a road to get to the Host site. Our site is at the red arrow, it is about 100' down a somewhat narrow road, then treed on both sides. We are the 4th large site down this road.
- BB_TXNomadIt all depends on the park. No preference otherwise.
- Camper_GExplorerI like back in best for the privacy

X2
I won't eliminate a site or decide either way. I take each site on its own merits. PT vs BI are further down the list.
I also factor in how long I'm staying.
I have learned to be more choosey if I'm staying awhile.
If its a short trip I will sometimes settle for a lesser site. - trailer_newbeExplorer III prefer pull through, but at the end of the day, some of the best camp sites I’ve been in were jack knife back up. It’s just a little extra hassle, but once settled in who cares.
