- Dog_TrainerExplorerI have the Hemi in my 2015 Ram 2500 HD. I have 3.73 gears. I pull a 35' 8400 lb TT I am pleased with the tow capability and like others I get between 8-9.5 mpg towing. Trips through the Eastern mountains proved to be no problem.
You will be the judge on how well a 1500 will carry the load. - skinnymeExplorerI have a 13' ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi 6sp. trans. 3.55gears
I tow a 29' trailer 6300 lb. wet. The truck has plenty of power.
At 7000lb. the power will be good. The handling will be marginal. - CampingN_C_ExplorerNot a direct answer to your question but I'll add this. I towed a 32 double slide with a 2500HD that had the 6.0 gasser in it. It's somewhat comparable to your 5.7 HEMI. My camper was around 9000lbs, a little heavier than yours. I felt it was lacking under the hood and felt I was really over working it in some places, especially the NC mountains.
You've got a 6 speed trans and a slightly lighter camper than my comparison. I think you'll be decent in the power dept once down on the flats, but you'll be wanting more up where you live.
Just my 2 cents. - HunterredExplorerAgain, not the power but the weight that will get you into trouble. Payload on the Ram 1500 is so restrictive that it makes it near impossible to tow anything over 5000. My 2012 had a payload of 1015 lbs, after loading it to go camping with daily tools, family, dogs, wood, propane for camp stove, I had an available hitch weight of 350 lbs, that had to include the hitch. I was usually overweight with that truck and a 23 ft trailer (6200 lbs) in the range of 107-120% of the GVWR depending on how long we were going. That being said, the truck did handle well overloaded, never felt out of control and all the power you could want to pull any hill in front of you. If I didn't weight the unit and do the math, we would have never known we were over. I ended up getting a GMC 1500 with a payload of 1985 lbs, gave us a lot bigger margin.

If its a 1/2 ton that trailer is too heavy, iMO. We had soemone with that setup or close to it on our caravan last year. He had issues.
I was asking for someone who is towing with one.
Not for what you imagine !

Really depends on camping weights. I was conservative giving you a weight of 7800lbs. That's 1014lbs tongue weight.
Max half ton payload is 1500 on a stripped truck.
Id say only go with a 3/4 ton Hem 5.7 or 6.4.
If you are not towing with one, how do you know.
I was asking if anyone was towing with one!

Is any one pulling a 7000 pound 32 foot long trailer with a 2014 Ram with a V-8, 5.7L, 6 speed ?
If so have you got enough power, etc

Power is no problem..... it really depends if you're talking a 1500 or 2500. 2500 is the right truck for the job and would be a great fit. 1500? Pretty close on all the #s.... and that's if you're talking about loaded weight. If 7K is the dry weight you're not in the ballpark.
Thanks
Much appreciated

You will need to review all your weights and make the determination if its safe to do but you shouldn't have any power concerns. The Hemi is a pulling beast but it will build some RPM doing so and burns alot of gas! I average 8mpg @ 65 mph.
