pumping creek water
I boondock about 25' from a creek on a regular basis. and am wondering if there is a way to pump water into my rig using a sump or sumpin'. has any body ever done this and where can i get one? Thanks ...

I have an electric water pump that was givin to me, it is your standard rv pump but it is 120 volt handy if you have a generator and an extension cord. I take a drinking safe water hose down to the creek and put one end in a coffee can and sink it in the water with a rock. The coffee can is to keep sand and dirt from sucking into the water by keeping off the creek bottom. I then connect the pump to the hose and another hose to the outlet from the pump and fill my camper. just be sure to used a strainer on the inlet of the pump. If you think you need to you can put a little bleach in with the water but I do not. I do this all the time.
