I occasionally use mine even though I always tote along the EZup 10'x10' canopy. It has worked out well during rainy camping to extend our "dry" area in conjunction with the canopy.
On my Jayco, I don't know why it never occurred to me to unroll it before cranking up the roof but that makes a big difference. Of course, since I rarely use it, I never pull it out and set up until I see a "need" to have it. I ended up using an inverted bucket as a step stool on the Jayco when I needed to deploy the awning. Now, unless I carry a dedicated medium step ladder, I cannot deploy the awning on the Fleetwood after setting up the PUP, seeing that this highwall has a ceiling higher than standard PUPs and the additional 5" axle lift really puts it out of reach. But I did use it once during the past year of Fleetwood ownership. I was grateful I had it but could live without it. I was trying to cut down weight on a 2,500 mile trip so left the EZup at home. I did, however, come back to the campsite one day of that trip to find the awning was now on top of the PUP roof and the legs dangling on the other side of the PUP. I had not done anything to anchor it down and a wind obviously came along while we were out for the day. Thankfully there was no permanent damage but I won't make that mistake again.
