The thought of having to change oil in a diesel at 5,000 miles with full synthetic just does not sit well with me.
I am not saying the 6.0 can't be a strong engine, just the maintenance is too costly for a diesel.
Well I have an option of taking my truck to Cummins NW. I also have the option buying OEM parts from them also, which are usually less expensive that parts house or dealer.
Ummmm, where does it say the 6.0L requires synthetic??? Dino 15W-40 resides in mine per the manual during the warm months then I switch over to 10W-30 semi synth for the cold weather as per the manual - you can use full syth if you want and extend out the drain interval if you have it tested. Think that just about goes the same for a Duramax or Cummins, right? I ALSO have the option of heading over to IH to buy OEM parts for the 7.3L/6.0L/6.4L as well. Fact is I rarely ever buy from the stealership unless I can't get it anywhere else. Fact is as most do I buy my parts online.
Seriously, put a little effort into your research, you sound like a "fan boy" on one of the truck forums.
