Right on!! Glad you got it fixed and it was easy to do. Most of the stuff in an RV is easy to fix. It's just when you never have done it before it's scary to do the fist time.

I just did mine this year. I had a bad water valve that leaked. I messed around for an hour trying to get at the back screws. :M

Finally I said screw this and pulled the toilet. It took less than 5 minutes. :o Then it took less than 15 minutes to put in my new water valve and another 5 minutes to bolt it down again.

Don't make the same mistakes I did, PULL THE TOILET!!! :)

Definitely replace the foam seal if you lift the toilet off the flange otherwise you can end up with a leak. The seals are inexpensive. The toilet is attached to the flange the same as in a house - nothing special about an RV toilet mounting.

The water line fitting is simply undone and re-tightened by hand. No tools needed.

Of course, once you have it off, you *could* upgrade to a porcelain RV toilet. :) Very nice upgrade and so much easier to clean. (Under $200 on ebay at the moment.)

Turn off the water supply and the water pump. Open a sink drain to bleed the pressure out of the water lines.

Put a new foam gasket on the black tank. Set the toilet on the existing bolts and attach the water lines.Sit on the toilet to compress the new gasket. Tighten the two nuts that hold the toilet down to the floor. If needed have your friend sit on the toiled while you tighten the bolts.

Done.

It only takes a few minutes to get the Aqua Magic V off the floor. Do you intend to hang over the toilet working with a mirror and stubby screwdriver to change the water valve. I suppose it might be possible.

On second thought, that's what I get for listening to the hubby. I just went out myself and looked and there are two bolts holding it. From a google search, I think it might be The Aqua Magic V. Will I need to remove it, to get to the back?

This has a flush handle on the side and there are no visible bolts holding it down. If I google Thetford toilets and then look at images, I don't find one just like ours.
