Let me re-cap. OP's 295 70-18 tires, 7000lbs on rear axle (according to him). The absolute minimum recommended pressure for the rears would be 65psi for 3500lb capacity per tire.
Please explain to the class how a tire that "should" have 70psi min for that load is going to cause this "discomfort, beaten up suspension bushings and loose steering" at 80psi?
Or maybe it will be more likely to damage the tire at that pressure according to Optimistic Paranoid....
