Question for Ram Owners who use the torklift extension

For the late model Ram owners who have installed the Torklift hitch, does your setup have 2 receivers from Torklift or did they sell the one receiver setup and you have to use the original factory hitch? I was told on the Ram body you cant remove the original hitch as it would void the warranty per Torklift, the dealer says opposite. There is too much flex in the factory hitch for my intended use.

  • I am considering adding the 20k hitch to my truck, torklift says the current rear tie downs(D3109) wont work with the upgraded hitch. I really dont want to spend $$$ for upgraded tie downs (R3507) , has anyone modded theirs to fit?
  • My truck is the 2013 RAM 3500, it has the 30k Magnum installed. I'm using the 42 inch 12000 rated extension dual tube.

I found that the Torklift 2 1/2” to 2” adapter, that they provide, is totally useless and the OEM adapter that comes with your RAM works much better. The TL adapter is too short and too tight and makes inserting the SuperTruss extension extremely difficult......the RAM adapter makes the extension go in like butter. Torklift I hope you’re reading this!

  • I have a 2018 RAM Dually and recently installed the Torklift 20k Superhitch and it does use the factory hitch as the top tube. It piggybacks both the Torklift and RAM hitch and they are bolted together to form a single twin-tube unit. I believe that I used the D1108 because the frame on the 2018 is different than the 2017 and earlier trucks. The Torklift also bolts on to the RAM’s side plates underneath. As usual the Torklift instructions are not very clear but you can figure it out as I installed it myself.
