Hitching and unhitching takes a little getting used to, but it is no big deal. You'll figure it out pretty quickly.
As for towing - there is no learning curve. I can't say you won't know the trailer is back there, but it's close.
You also get a tighter turn radius when backing. I forget the degrees, but you can darn near jackknife it before hitting your truck.
