- dmck413ExplorerYes,I let the fuel pump come up to pressure.
- rhagfoExplorer IIII don’t always wait on my Cummins, it will fire right up unless it is really cold!
- mbuttsExplorerI was still doing this a year after I sold my diesel!
- 4x4ordExplorer IIII hadn't waited for glow plugs for 7 years with my 6.7 Ford diesels. With my 2017 I jump in and push the start button and it doesn't always start cranking imediately....I'm having a hard time getting use to that.
- JIMNLINExplorer IIIMy biggest problem driving the wifes 1500 chevy is reaching for the exhaust brake T handle on the shifter on my Cummins/NV5600 tranny at every stop sign/red light or a down hill.

Push the button twice and it should start. My Ram does. The second push bypasses the wait to start. - jamesuExplorerI try to remember to wait for the glow plug dash light to go out before turning the key each time. Sometimes I forget though. Why not follow a procedure that increases the odds of keeping the engine up to snuff?

- DutchmenSportExplorerDiesel truck, and a gasoline engine car. Even in the car, I turn over the key and wait, then realize, I don't need to. It's a habit. I always go ... "Oh Duh!"
- LynnmorExplorerI usually use the remote start for a cold engine. It will figure out what to do.
