All options are still open. Haven't purchased either the truck or the trailer.
Looked a Ford. Nice but Wife struggles with the seating on the passenger side
Looked at Dodge - Nice and meets her needs.
Have not looked at GM much. Drove a 3500, but didn't look all that hard at it.
I have as yet to see a 3:91 option as a gear.?
No 3.91 for RAM. RAM and GM are both AAM axles. So the options are 3.42, 3.73 and 4.10's. However, GM doesn't do 4.10 with their diesels.
I looked at a Chevy 3500 recently. I liked the fact that access to the cab was easier since it was closer to the ground, however, I disliked the low hanging frame and DEF tank since I had scraping problems with my F-150 and it didn't hang as low. IFS does seem to ride nicer, made me reminisce about my 2010 F-150 a little bit. Bed also seems to be lower, but then the whole truck is lower. Don't like the spindly tires that GM tends to spec on their trucks. Also seems like the cab is missing some things that should be standards with trucks of these caliber. Such as rear vents. Option for a storage pod under the rear seat versus just an open space. More Cup holders for the rear passengers. Cab also felt shorter, unsure if it's the seating position or if it is physically shorter.
However, I was appreciative of some of the features. Namely the rear bed lighting system. Like the fact that they don't install it right away in case they option a drop-in or spray-in bedliner. I did like the ability to reach further into the bed given the lower stock height. The engine bay was pretty nice as well. Only thing I didn't like was how to access the fuel filter, but it looks like an aftermarket fender well would cure that easily.
Pretty decent truck, just lacking in a few places in my book.
