Questions to new Ford truck owners

I'm a pickup slide in camper guy and want to trade trucks and all of my equipment off my present truck will fit right onto a new Ford truck so this is about $3000 of equipment that could be put on the new truck and save me some money there. It would be a F350 dually CC if I get a new one.

Just a brief note. I faced a similar decision on deciding what truck and engine to get for my AF1150 truck camper. I went with the 6.2 gas (needed to haul heavy, not tow heavy) and have been very pleased. Here is my brief review:

That is what I presently have. I have a F350 SRW KR CC 11200# GVWR 4X4 truck with the 6.2. It has been really good so far we just came back from a 11000 miles trip to Alaska with and and after towing our boat for the first 2000 miles and heavy storms and head winds till we got into BC. On the way home headwinds and crosswinds all through MT and didn't get out of it till about 200 miles from home. Even with all that we averaged 10.88 MPG all hand calculated. I didn't feel this was to bad with my 4000+ camper on it with my 19.5 16 ply rated LR G tires which I'm sure knocked off some mileage. The best I've seen a couple of times was 12.6 MPG with the camper. It is just I want to look at a Jeep to tow with us so it well be an even bigger load on the truck. That is why I was looking at a diesel but maybe I'm best staying with my 6.2 gasser and just go up the hills a little slower. I also have the 4.3 gears.
