I bought a Coleman Roadtrip LXE outdoor grill (2 burner) that has a regulator made to accept the 1 lb portable propane bottles. It works great. I went to propane store and had a 6ft hose made that connects to the built in quick connect on the trailer and then into the Coleman regulator in place of the 1 lb propane bottle. I get very little propane to come out and very low pressure and very low flame. Any ideas why? Are the portable grills made to only work with the 1 lb. portable bottle? And yes the quick connect valve is in the fully on position and all connections are screwed in tightly.
The RV propane lines are "low pressure" system (for safety reasons), the Coleman Roadtrip LXE outdoor grill works on 1 lb portable propane bottle (high pressure)
You CAN NOT use the RV quick connect propane on that Coleman Roadtrip LXE.
You CAN have a T connection BEFORE the RV regulator and run it straight from the RV propane tank, but remember! it is less safe to run longer propane hoses (on high pressure) then using your direct 1 lb portable propane bottle.

You CAN buy a "RV low pressure BBQ", and plug that to your RV quick connect line, but those BBQ are NOT CHEAP.
While this is basically correct, you CAN use the Road trip on a low pressure line (rv quick connect) IF you remove the regulator. A member recently posted how to do it if somebody can find it. This is commonly done on the Weber Q series which I have experience with.
