The connection on your trailer is already regulated. you need to remove the regulator from your grill to use it with the trailer supply.
Hose clamps on a pressurized LP gas line? Sorry, but that's VERY dangerous. Go buy a manufactured hose with fittings on it.
Look closely at the photo I posted above. The piece you need remove from the Coleman regulator is the brass piece that you tighten onto the rear of the grill with your fingers that is threaded onto the chrome pipe. That connection can be very tight and I had to take ours to a machine shop.
If you don't know how to properly work with pressurized propane piping and components, go get a professional to do it.
