- gmw_photosExplorerI agree with the others the Taco would be a good match for what you are considering. Tacos and Frontys are great tow vehicles for smaller trailers, in spite of what many on this forum say.
And yes, I know what it's like to tow with a one ton dually....got one of those too for the big trailers at home. But like right now, I'm sitting in my 19' Funfinder, in Colorado, towed here once again by my Frontier. - goducks10Explorer

You should have no problems towing either with the Tacoma, as long as you have a good brake controller and weight distribution hitch. The Andersen Hitch would be good for either of the campers.
We see a lot of R-pods on the road. They probably the most common camper when we were in Oregon last year.
This year too. Being from Oregon I see a bunch of them towed by all kinds of vehicle. - full_moseyExplorerProdigy 'P3' brake controller.
HTH;
John - CO-travelerExplorerssthrd, what is the "P3" you are referring to?
- ssthrdExplorerI pulled a 5000+ lb TT for a couple of years with a 4.0 l. Tacoma with towing package, P3, WDH and sway control. No real issues, but I wouldn't want to tow anything heavier especially on a longer trip. Locally, it was perfect.
I'm guessing that what you are looking at is likely in the 3000 lb range on the road, and you should be happy with your setup. - profdant139Explorer III tow a similar trailer with a 4 liter Tacoma (with the tow package) -- it's great. (But don't ask it to tow above 65 mph against a headwind uphill.)
- BumpyroadExplorerdoes your tacoma have the towing package?
bumpy - rexlionExplorerI think they are about the same width but the comet specs are giving body width less wheels, and rpod spec of 8' includes wheels.

Have you looked at the KZ Sportsmen Classic? I tow the 180bh with my minivan. It is lighter than the models you are looking at & has a dry bathroom and tons of storage space with a closet to hang up your clothes. I looked at the same models you are looking at before I bought my KZ. I am extremely pleased with the 180bh.
