I too installed a kill switch in the radio circuit for those times we're relying on battery reserve alone but I wired it to kill the radio entirely, deeming the memory circuit redundant as we're usually camping well away from our home area, in which case the radio remembering stations that can't be received where we're camping would be pointless. ;)
