Ram 2019 3500 diesel
I’m looking at this left over and asking people’s opinion . I’ve been a GM guy so not to fimiliar with ram

CUMMINS, AISIN, 3500, LongBed (SRW or DRW), 5er tow prep, Factory Rear Air, pick your trim level. Once behind the wheel the smile never goes away!
Well I got three of of the four, DRW and leaf springs not air, Laramie trim level.
2019 could be a short model year for Ram, 2020’s looking to come out.
OP, is it SRW or DRW and what trim?

IN 2020, the HO is 400hp, 1000tq, Standard output is 370hp, 850tq.- If you had an Duramax with an Allison, then you might be disappointed going to the Aisin or 68RFE. The Aisin is a slow shifting and clunky trans, and the shift logic is not as good as the Allison. However, it is a more stout trans with a PTO. The 68RFE shifts quicker and much smoother than the AIsin, but still not as good as the Allison in its shift logic. The most that can be towed with the 68RFE is 22k.
The other major difference between the two is compression ratio of the engine each comes with which will effect fuel economy. The Cummins with the Aisin has a lower 16.2: compression ratio which is needed to attain higher 400 hp and remain emissions compliant, but will have less fuel mileage in comparison. The Cummins with the 68RFE has a compression ratio of 19.0:1 and makes 370 hp, but will have better fuel economy. It just depends on which is more important to you. Cummins12V98 wrote:

- Currently, all the diesels by the big 3 (Ram, GM, Ford) are excellent. Can't really go wrong IMO. Pick the one you like.
One thing to note is that Ram has two versions of the 6.7L Cummins. A high output and a standard output. The high output comes with a heavier duty automatic transmission. Easy way to tell them apart (besides the window sticker), is the location of the transmission fluid dipstick.
If it's on the passenger side, it's the standard output Cummins and the Ram 68RFE trans. If it's on the driver's side, that's the HO engine and Aisin HD trans.
