I think most folks here missed the point - the test wasn't to prove the truck can handle the trailer, or tow it safely. Rather, it's to compare the suspension squat of leaf vs coil springs.
Personally, I really enjoy these informative tests. Without them, people are blinded by opinions and decade old beliefs.
Just how many people doubted Ram when they released the coil sprung 2500? Everyone thought they'll squat, and "real trucks don't have coils" blah blah blah
