Truck Squat

There isn't a specific rule about how much the back should lower. I like mine a little higher in back. I don't have any idea about Happyijacs, but I'm sure someone will chime in about them.

The scale is going to be your best friend. Load it up and scale it for accurate information.

Not sure what model and weight your TC is but 3 inches is not bad. May be wrong but thought longer turnbuckles are used in rear with Happi jac system. Shorter ones went in front.

My newer F 250 SD only squatted about 3 inches . My other truck needed air bags ,after I bought the 250 I put the camper on it and found out it did not any other mods. But the truck has the Camper package on it. With factory over load springs .

My experience is a 3-inch sag is typical on all trucks. If you want the truck to be the same height as without a TC, then airbags are the way to go. This is a personal preference. It does change the adjustment of the headlights.

On the turnbuckles, as I recall, the short ones go in the front. The long ones (with springs) go in the rear.

The happiejac turnbuckles I have The short ones go on the front of the truck and the threads are pointing towards the top. The longer turnbuckles go on the rear with the threads pointing up ward as well. At least that's how the instructions told me to put them on the truck. You should hang them by your finger (barrel side up threads down) mark where the hook extends through the barrel. When you install them on your truck you are suppose to be a 1/4 inch past your mark for secure installation. The short ones I have have springs in them. The rear ones just snug them by hand. Then tighten down jam nut.

Should go for a short drive to see how the truck handles before throwing tons of money at the suspension. I'm going to get bags for it. possibly a different stabilizer bar. But also thought about turning my truck into a dually. Love the look of a dually

If you are level you are good to go.

My 07 ram 3500 drw looses 4" in height when I put my camper on. I plan on getting a couple extra springs on each side in the rear. But driving wise it handles great.

My F-250 sags about 3 inches with the camper on it. But it sits level when unloaded, so a 3" sag in back was not acceptable to me. I put airbags on it, and now it sits level.

My '04 3500 DRW 4x4 is about 4-inches high in the rear. It has stock suspension, with Stableload uppers. I have not yet loaded my 4200 lb TC. My bet is that it will drop only about 2 to 3 inches. If true, the rear will be about level to 1-inch high in the rear.

I might install airbags and raise the front so I can make the truck level empty or loaded.
