Kind of like guys who say that independant torsion bar suspensions are not tough enough to handle heavy duty pickup use. I ride in a 76000 GVWR ladder truck with torsion bar IFS rated at 24K and it rides and handles great. There's no reason coils can't be just as tough as leaves, it's just a different design.
