I take my 2 LRG's over 4 LRE's any day.. but then again it's all about expectations right :-)
A wider foot print is only better on dry pavement, the rest of the time I want more weight per square inch.
The suspension still pivots at the same point, and the axle is still in the same location relative to the weight.
In factory form a DRW will do better, but with some mods a SRW can preform as well, or better, than a DRW. If you have a modded DRW.. well then maybe you should look at a 5500 or bigger ;-)
