Ram 3500 MPG

2014 Ram 3500 SRW 4x4 Cummins. In summer hwy over 20 and city about 17. Winter has really dropped it (longer warm up times and blend I suppose) to about 15 city

I have a 13 3500 dually with the Aisin and 4.10. Towing my trailer, 17,500 trailer loaded 27,000 combined I get average between 8-10. Empty no trailer in town I average 12-14. Empty highway I average 16-17. Have seen over 18 depending on terrain. Those are all hand calculated. I generally drive 65-68 highway speed.

2014 Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 3.73 getting 17 around town and 15.5 towing the 4800 pound TT with the curise control set at 65mph. But its fairly flat around these parts.

2012 3500 DSL 4:10 rear end pulling 33 ft travel trailer 10 mpg empty with tail wind 15 mpg pulling 18 ft fishing boat 13 mpg around town everyday driving 131/2 to 14. Best mileage on mine is at 68 mph dont know why but that is the sweet spot on mine less than that or more than that and mileage drops.

2014 Ram 3500 4x4, crew cab, long bed, Cummins, Aisin, 3.73 gears with 5000 miles. We are averaging 15.5 empty and about 9 while towing a triple axle toy hauler.

2012 Ram 3500 Dually w/ 4.10 gears and 4x4. Around town and highways, 13-14 with the occasional appearance of 15mpg. Towing, generally 9mpg. All of these were hand calculated and I'm actually pretty good at getting most fill-ups in an app.

The faster you go the worst your mpg will be. I don 't really calculate my mpg as what does it really matter. I need to pull a heavy fiver around so I got the tool to do it. That being said I had a 2012 dually ram previously. I know this truck gets better mileage around town. Both of the trucks have 4:10 rears. The 2013 and up will get better mileage according to the advertisements but remember your load, your speed the terrain and how big of a head wind your in will increase or decrease your mileage drastically.

Sorry but speed is a killer for mileage.

Drop to 62 and see what happens.

I'm in the passenger seat of a '14 4wd crew dually, flying across New Mexico. Truck has 3.73 and is the 68rfe. Towing a 24' goose with a 40hp tractor (I guess 8k load). Running 75, we have been at 9-10.5mpg. I've covered over 2k in the last week. Running about 50mph brought it up to 12mpg (slick roads and single digit temps).

I would get the 4:10's the mileage will be the best when towing and even solo it will not be much different. I can tell with just a few miles on my new 15 Dually with Aisin and 4:10's I am getting 1-2 mpg better than the 11 dually did.

I averaged West Coast towing with the 11 62mph combined weight 29K 9mpg hand calc. It had 3:42's.

Get the 4:10's don't limit your self.

At 70 you are turning 2K in 6th and the engine noise is not noticeable.
