As you can see in my sig, I'm currently Rig-less. However I can offer my unloaded driving. Click on the banner to see average speeds and duty cycle and you can probably gauge from there where you'd be.
The '13 Ram is a different animal as your truck utilizes urea to reduce EGR. Your mileage will be better than the MY '12 and older trucks.
Rick is right, I had overlooked the fact that you're looking for a truck that doesn't take DEF, if you're only looking at a 10 or 11...The trucks using DEF are getting better mpg.
You also stated you have an 05' 2500. I'm not familiar with the older Dodge trucks, but if that one has the 5.9, you'd also be jumping to the 6.7 Cummins diesel engine.
Also going to a 1 ton, as you stated a 3500, I'm figuring you're talking a SRW as opposed to a dually....I would think your mileage will drop over all going from an 05 2500 to a 2010 or 2011 3500....I was comparing 3500 Dually's (2010, 2012 and 2013), and apologize for having mis-read your post....
Apologies to the OP, I missed the 2010 and 2011 part as well. I personally would advise to steer clear of the non-SCR RAMs. Sure there are plenty who haven't had issues, but in my transit experience if they're ran hard continuously there will be issues, primarily EGR valves and coolers have been a large headache. In fact the EGR's soot up so much more on the pre-2013 RAMs that there is a procedure to "De-carbonize" the EGR valve and cooler every 75,000 miles. This procedure does not exist for the current RAM. This has been my company's experience with the pre-SCR ISL's as well. If possible, try to get a straggler/left-over 2013 RAM 3500.
