4500lb trailer with about 7klbs of steel on it. On a mild grade too (snoq Pass). My 2016 5.3 1500 will out pull that 6.0. No questions asked. 2500 has more chassis of course, but dayum......I was not expecting that.
I have been towing for 9 years with a 6.0 4 speed. Had a TBI 454 and 5.3 truck neither of them came close to the 6.0 I have now.
I live probably an hour from you on the Kitsap Peninsula. Vantage, 4th of July pass, Lookout Pass, Tiger Mountain 7500lbs loaded trailer, Snoqualmie is an easy one. That is not my experience at all. I have no trouble maintaining 55 to 65 on any of those.
