Ram 6.4 reviews

I test drove a 2014 6.4 with 3.73 gears and it didn't strike me as anything more than my 5.7 Tundra, but the Tundra has 4.30 gearing, and the 5.7 I-force engine is a rocket compared to my old 5.4 Ford, and not far off my v10 triton (but much better on fuel)...in fact the v10 was one of my favorite engines.

I do like the look of the Ford better than the Ram, but It seems the Ram has a better gas motor, and perhaps better riding suspension as the coil rear is getting good reviews and doesn't seem to sag as much as Ford's leaf spring rear.

While I haven't driven a 6.4 Hemi, I drive a 6.2 Ford everyday for work. I can tell you that it seems to be a gutless wonder when pulling just about anything, and it has the 4.30 gears. I'm a die hard Ford guy, but with what people are saying about the 6.4, that is one I would seriously look at if I wanted a gas engine.

When I was looking for my Ram, I called on a few of those 32k deals. What I found out is that price is if you qualify for all the rebates like military, business owner, ect. For each rebate you dont qualify for, the price goes up.

When I was looking for my Ram, I called on a few of those 32k deals. What I found out is that price is if you qualify for all the rebates like military, business owner, ect. For each rebate you dont qualify for, the price goes up.

I'm saying that you should pay $39.5k based on the $44k MSRP and it would still allow the dealer profit with the manufacturer to dealer incentives. Any government fees or taxes would still be on your end of cost, but manufacturer rebates would reduce what you pay even more.

I'm quite similar to you. When its time to upgrade the Tundra, I will be looking HARD at the Ram 6.4. Older Dodges, like your 96, were known to have lots of quality issues. I really think that Ram has taken a HUGE step forward with quality. Even 5 years ago I would have never considered a Dodge/Ram product. Looking at the product they put out now is night and day. The 6.4 engine appears very stout, and the Ram 2500 appears to have overcome the problems of the old ones... bad front ends, rusting panels, etc.
