I thought the 68RFE transmission was relatively bullet proof and the blend door problems are a 2nd and 3rd generation RAM problem. Haven't heard of any 4th Gen blend door issues.
Check on the Turbo Diesel Register for 4th Generation RAM issues (really not many at all). Even though you're looking at a gasser - TRD is still a wealth of information regarding all things Dodge/RAM pickup.
