RAM and weather alerts on radio...
While I was in Alaska, my truck radio was constantly updating me on various severe weather alerts (rain, floods, forest fire). It's not something I did specifically, they'd just pop up on the screen, and then switch to a map showing me and the alert location(s).
Here in the lower 48 (Michigan), the radio has never warned me of anything. Is it because Michigan is cheaping out, does the State of Alaska pay some company to alert drivers' radios?
I'm wondering if the State of Alaska or Federalies do up there because there's so little cell phone coverage? I do routinely get flood and other such warnings on my cell phone while here in Michigan.
