Brake buddy alert

$160 is far too much to spend to insure good braking. Are you serious?

It doesn't affect the braking only lets you know when the brakes are applied.

Obviously he wants to know because he wants to add a light in the motorhome to replace his broken alert so he knows rather than spending $160 for a new alert. :S
Did you actually even read his post.

I have read here where folks have placed a light on the dash that they could see thru the rear window of your MH to see that brakes have been activated.

Have you asked Brake Buddy about repair?

Run a line from your brake pedal line to the power cord them from the other end of the power cord to your dash. Cost me $3.50 and about two hours. Considering shop charges if you had them do it the cost would probably be at least $200. Buy a replacement save yourself some time and possibly money.

Mine did the same thing. Its not broke. It has to do with the distance from the alert to the toad. The longer your coach the more difficult time it has getting signal.

I ended up putting a portable battery jump-it on the passenger seat close to the window and plugging the alert into it. THEN it worked.:R

I drove around for a couple of months like that and then just stopped using it.

It even states in the owners manual for the alert that the distance from alert to toad can be a problem. If your cig lighter is real low on the dash that can be the problem too it can't receive the signal.

They do sell an extension cig lighter where you plug it in and it has a coiled wire with an attachment to plug in several electronics. this might get you the extra distance to make it to be able to receive the signal.
