What I was trying to get at with this post was if anyone had had a similar encounter with RAM FCA and what was the outcome.
And most importantly did your Ram Cummins come with the Block Heater but not the cord.
The young man I spoke with couldnt really decide from his info if the engine actually had the block heater or not. Apparently his info is vague on this point. Which isnt surprising since the engine is built by Cummins and may not show up as a separate line item.
For the record I don't blame FCA for not including the cord. Surely most of the sales are going to areas where it will never be used, it makes economic sense. But my approach if I was FCA would be to install a cord under warranty if a customer questioned its absence and needed it. Not everyone lives where they have to plug in their vehicles all the time.
I am pleased with FCA for buying the cord for me. Their warranty and service over two trucks has been great. This truck has not needed a single thing since I bought it and I have put over 24 thousand miles on it since last April. Whereas my 2014 had several warranty issues. But they were handled in an exceptional manner.
They see I am a loyal customer and they are responding in kind.
But I will suspend final judgement until it is all resolved.
