I used mine on the 2001.5 when I could snowmobiling in Eastern Washington. It was nice to come out of the motel and have the defroster work right away to help make the truck drivable much quicker. A non-preheated diesel truck takes a long time to thaw at temps well below freezing to the point that one can see out to safely drive it.
So it is not and engine issue in some cases. Chris
