:) Hi, check out "Big D Off Road, LLC" for $120.00 they have a kit for Dodge Ram Steering Gear Box Stabilizer 4WD 2009 to 2014 2500 and 3500 Series. :B
Would you consider a 2014 an older model with a different frame?
OK, found what you were talking about. Having previously owned a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500, a 2001 Ram 2500 and a 2006 Ram 3500, I've never had steering problems or found the need to even look for that product before.
Course I've never off roaded that much with any of them, nor placed over sized tires or wheels, so perhaps leaving things stock has saved me potential problems.
So I remain firmly convinced that an after market gizmo, from a company of unknown reliability, for a problem I've never had, will ever grace my vehicle.
Besides, who need knowledge when you have this forum for reference? :B
Thank you Mad Norsky..I didn't even bother to look it up, but same as you, I'm not planning to take my truck off road or put over sized tires on it or put a lift or leveling kit on it, so I guess if one is going to "modify" their truck to do something like above, they'd need something like what ROBERTSUNRUST is talking about:h??? I'm also guessing that this "part" ISN'T offered to Chevy/GM or Ford owners from the way he makes the statement??
Found a few "tidbits" of information which can easily be found on line from my 2013 Ram truck 3500 brochure (you know, like the one's Chevy/GM or Ford owners will pick up at the dealership to learn what all is offered on the truck they're purchasing)..
"FRAME STRENGTH MEASURES UP..AT AN INCREDIBLE 50 KSI... The high strength steel on Ram trucks carries the same standard used to build bridges and submarine hulls. This is frame strength BUILT to work"
"The revised Ladder Frame with Eight tough cross-members and wider rails on the new Ram 2500 and 3500 lets you tackle the most challenging payloads with assured capability and unquestioned strength."
"A new fully integrated rear frame structural crossmember with provisions for a 5th wheel or Gooseneck hitch which help ramp up towing capability" .
" Modified Rear Axle help achieve new maximum capability. On the 3500, the reconfigured Hotchkiss (leaf) suspension let's you load Ram to groaning payloads with no compromises in handling or roll dynamics,
oh, and this..A new premium reciprocating ball steering gear with redesigned steering knuckles and balljoint and a more robust steering linkage on Ram 3500 models enhance steering and control with a more precise on center feel. --They directly contribute to Rams impressive higher GVWR's and payload/towing figures.
I left out info about all new front and rear suspensions, but appears to me there is nothing weak about this trucks frame or steering system...
