My truck has the "lowly" G56 manual transmission with 3.73 gears and it has plenty of power pulling my 16k lbs fifth wheel all over the mountain passes on the West coast. The Cummins has such massive low end torque that I wouldn't be afraid of 3.73 gears at all. They also provide nice solo cruising on the highway.
