Does anyone tow a fifth wheel with the ram mega cab dually? I am looking at getting a new truck and I like the room of the mega cab. the bed just looks real short to me. I am trying to figure out if it will present a problem with my voltage toy hauler and turning.

Our last truck was not a dually but it was a mega cab. It was a great truck. We never had any issues with pulling our 40' bunk house. We did have the slider hitch but never used it, could almost do a complete 90 when turning. Towed with it for 2 years and never had an issue with bed size I haven't figured out how to upload photos with the new format yet. But there are plenty of people on here that I have seen using the dually with the mega and love it. We are going back to the mega again on our next truck. We miss it.

We have a 3500 4x4 SRW mega pulling a 13.5k 39ft Alpine with a B&W companion set 4 inches rear of axle and no problems in over 10k miles. Have 57k miles on the mega in 6 years and still love it.

I have been towing with my Megacab dually for 2 1/2 years now. It is important to note that the bed length is exactly the same in all Ram HD short boxes including the Megacab, which is 6'4". I think many believe the Megacab box is shorter than the crewcab shortbox because of the size of the cab but it isn't.Our last FW was a 2005 with a fairly square nose and I had to use my slider hitch a couple of times while backing into tight spaces. Our current FW has a rounded front cap and I have yet to come even remotely close to hitting the cab of the truck with the hitch in the regular towing position. I think I could easily have a non slider hitch now.We love the Megacab dually; the cab has tons of room including the ability to put suitcases BEHIND the rear seat. The rear seats also recline and our son just loves it back there. Starting in 2013, they have the same GVWR as the crew cab long box so they are pretty much capable of towing any RV out there. I have never had so many compliments on any truck I've owned as this one. Let us know if you have any other questions and how you make out!

The bed on a MegaCab is the standard "short" bed RAM makes. You may or may not need a slider, depending on the front of your 5er. Most of the newer 5ers have the front tapered to allow towing with a shot bed without slider.

What about the 4.10 gears vs 3.73? I am thinking that I want the 4.10 but most of the trucks on dealer lots have the 3.73. I want something to get the best mpg I can get towing the 20k pound toyhauler but I don't want to sacrifice pulling power.
