- dodge_guyExplorer III can see that happening. The Ram quality is amazing! I will not be buying Fords anymore due to the rust issues! My neighbor has an 11 F150 that has been rusting for the past 4 years. To the point it looks like junk. My wife’s 13 Explorer has rear doors that are starting to rust where the door skin wraps over the door frame. And the hood paint is peeling. I have yet to see any 4 year old Rams rusted this badly let alone 7 or 8 years old! And the Hemi doesn’t have the timing chain/phaser/spark plug issues the Ford has.

:) Hi, I read somewhere that Ram outsold Chevrolet half tons and GM is pissed. Is this fiction, or why haven't I seen any posts about this?
It was posted here a week or two ago. Related news is that Ram is basically buying sales thru rebates, incentives, and discounts. It is apparently working for them.
hey, if they sell them cheap, at least they know the true value of their product.
bumpy - downtheroadExplorerSeems that we have some differences in opinion in this "best truck" thread. Who knew that would happen....:h
Isn't it nice that we have a choice ? - AcdiiExplorerI compared the 19 Limited to an 18 Platinum. RAM has stepped up the game tremendously, that interior is just fantastic from materials, to stitching to the electronics. I went with the Platinum though for several reasons.
Ram, not known for reliability
Dealerships not known for decent care
Unknown crash ratings (which recently have been done and RAM matches Ford with 5 stars)
Unknown if the rust issues have been solved
poor engine choices
lack of available payload.
No tailgate step
known for having electrical issues
Aside from the Ford having a dated interior, it is still a rather good truck and I can see why it is still #1.
6 engine choices
Highest payload and towing
over 6 million combinations that can be built (mind blowing too when one is built every 53 seconds)
very nice styling.
GM will continue to stay at the bottom unless they fire all their engineers and hire some with talent and imagination instead of coming out with the same old same old style year after year. And please, that complicated tailgate? A disaster in the making.
About the only thing I did like that GM had over both Ford and Ram was the camera system. Doesn't say much does it. - GrooverExplorer III shared the best info that I could find on it here.
1st quarter sales for "American" brands
I is amusing that GM is making a big deal about Ram and how they got their numbers up while ignoring Ford. I guess that GM doesn't have any excuses for why Ford strengthened their lead. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIINot surprising to me at all. GM's are overpriced (they are all overpriced in reality). FCA products are traditionally lower priced, optioned the same. Cannot bring myself to refer to them as a RAM. RAM...Raunchy and Moldy.

If they are out selling Chev and GMC I might see how GM may have some concerns. - buckyExplorer IIIt wa reported by the Automotive News a week or so ago. IIRC it was for 1st quarter sales. They attributed it to Rams decision to keep the old Ram (2018) in production as the new Ram phases in. The old Ram is being snapped up by commercial buyers at huge rebates and a lower price point to begin with. The article also mentioned that the new Ram 1500 is not available with an eight foot bed.
Ford F150 still stomping them both however even if you add GMC into the Chevy numbers. - jfkmkExplorer
