The Cummis is a huge factor. It's not as fast as the others, but that aside there's no doubt in my mind that it's the best diesel engine you can buy right now. I think most non-fanboys would agree with that given the CP4 issues, which are real. If the Cummins was swapped into either of the other two brands, for that reason alone I would have gone with that brand. My intention is to keep my vehicles a long time, though. If I swapped every few years I'd be more open to the others.
Edit - to clarify, I could care less about sales figures or brand loyalty. I drive what I though was my best option at the time. Next time I buy, everybody gets a clean look at that time.
