Did they ever say what the total weight of the trailer was?
I’d love to see the acceptable operating range for the oil. Is that available somewhere? I towed my 7000 pound boat over the weekend with my GC EcoDiesel, and oil temps got into the 250’s. According to my gauge, those temps were barely above the half way mark which doesn’t seem right to me.
According to the article attached to the video, the trailer was 10,200lbs.
They said they where to the floor almost all the way up the Ike, but made it up at par time (8min), or close enough anyway. ShinerBock wrote:
According to Shell, this Rotella for gas engines has a flash point of 459F. That is really high for gasoline engine oil and is more inline with the flash point of diesel engine oil.
I'm pretty sure Shell uses GTL base oil for all their synthetics.- ShinerBockExplorerAccording to Shell, this Rotella for gas engines has a flash point of 459F. That is really high for gasoline engine oil and is more inline with the flash point of diesel engine oil.

They make synthetic oils that can handle that.

Pretty sure the mess all came from the oil filter, so the fumoto wouldn't help. The oil drain plug (at least in my Hemi) pours oil out the back of the oil pan with a clear shot to the drain bucket, and isn't ever messy.
Sure looks to me like the oil from the pan is hitting something. I would think a Fumoto would help.
That is the antisway bar. Easy wipe off. I have had that on many vehicles. The messy one was where they pulled the skid plate. That one drained all over the case. - RCMAN46Explorer

- TurnThePageExplorerPretty messy!
- RCMAN46ExplorerAfter watching the oil change I would say the Ram Rebel is a candidate for a Fumoto valve.
