Ram tire size

It's time to buy new tires for our 2016 Ram 2500. Currently, the size is 275/70/18 Firestone with a street tread. I wanted to jump up one size in width, but was told a 285 is really expensive.
Anyone on here running 295/70/18 on their Ram with stock rims?

    I’ve run lots of 295 tires on 8” rims. It’s as wide as I’d go on that rim width.
    Some will say too wide, recommended min rim width is likely a bit wider.
    Last set of 295s on 8” rims carried the AF camper to and all around Alaska.
    Bigger issue may be rubbing in the front wheel wells. Depending on tread/brand and the situation I’d expect there may be minor rubbing on full lock steering if no leveling kit.
