Chrysler should be out of business but every time it resorts to bankruptcy, the government steps in and bails them out. Right now FCA is wanting to merge with GM which GM executives believe is another bailout. Both Fiat and Chrysler have quality control issues along with a poor reputation for product reliability. Many people have had older Chrysler products where they dash was cracked, paint was flaking off, and transmission needed to be rebuilt.
Out of the three Chrysler products I've purchased, two of them had significant mechanical issues. First was a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had its transmission rebuilt three times before I unloaded it for a Ford Explorer. Second was a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 which is now subject to a manufacturer buyback. Both products were traded in before the manufacturer announced recalls to fix the issues.
I've always liked Chrysler but I've never had good luck with them.
