So when it's all over and done...this whole thing was pretty much a lot of hype and not much substance...Maybe it forces Fix It Again Tony, to finally have the parts available for the steering recall. I waited over a year to get my old Ram fixed...then traded it off for a Chevrolet. Yes I'm happy.

Yep because GM is doing so much better with their recalls right BO? Somehow they got the clowns in Washington to sign off on them only having to put a plug over the key ring hole instead of replacing the switch. Their reasoning was they couldn't get enough switchs for all of their unsafe vehicles that are out on the road. Glad you are happy with your new truck.
Don - GoldWingRyderExplorerI work at a dealership, nobody really knows exactly what will happen! From date of announcement if your vehicle is involved you will be contacted in about 60 days. There are a LOT of rumors flying around, I've heard several, the truth is NO ONE outside of Fiat-Chrysler really knows!
I see Bluestem has received one! Ha I work in a dealership and have not seen this yet! - B_O__PlentyExplorer IISo when it's all over and done...this whole thing was pretty much a lot of hype and not much substance...Maybe it forces Fix It Again Tony, to finally have the parts available for the steering recall. B.O. - BluStemExplorerMy notice says 2008 through 2012 model year RAM 1500/2500/3500 series trucks. It shows three options. 1. Repair free of charge and provide a $100 unrestricted gift card. Available now. 2. Repurchase the vehicle at fair market value plus 10%. Available Oct. 1 2015. 3. Additional incentive offer of $2000 towards a new RAM truck. Available now.
The buyback is only available if you have not had the recall work done. Dave H M wrote:
fish, was your link to the Ford recall? it came up Ram on my puter.
Nope your puter is correct... This recall involves RAM's version of Fords front suspension, but is not part of the buy back recall.- Dave_H_MExplorer IIfish, was your link to the Ford recall? it came up Ram on my puter.

Basically if you have a 2009-2012 with the old front suspension then you are eligible. The front suspension was changed in 2013 and is just about identical to the design on the front suspension of the current Ford SDs.
Hell there's a recall for the Ford copied front suspension too. Which may require a reinforced bracket at a later date....

BTW... I believe the recall also includes .5 ton trucks too.- BumpyroadExplorerthe link mentioned also the jeep recall on exploding gas tanks. the solution, install a trailer hitch. ;)
bumpy - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIGoogle doesn't come up with much info after July 2015.....
Did find some info.
It is via a RAM Dealership in Tuscon AZ BUT if you disregard the sales pitch there is a little bit more info (at least more than I had read before)
