Think we have shown it is 87 octane. If you are worried about just buy a diesel and only use 1 Cetane rating.

The use of premium gasoline is not recommended, as it will not provide any benefit over regular gasoline in these engines."

It don't get any clearer than that.

But! Is that cc engine the exact same engine used in the pickups. Many times cc truck engines are detuned vs pickup engines. Chris

That was my thought too.

Not uncommon at all for different engines to run different tunes in different applications which "may" change octane requirements.

So despite the fact that Ford does not derate their V10 even when put in their class 6 truck, and the fact that Ford does not derate their 6.7 diesel when put in their class 4 or 5 trucks, and the fact that Dodge does not derate the 6.7 Cummins when put in their class 4 or 5 trucks, and despite the fact that the manufacturer itself says to use 87 octane, you still feel it reasonable to question that. Right...

Not cab style, CC = cab/chassis. You know a work truck with no box .

I have never seen one of my owners manual say to change octane based on cab style.
