- ScottGNomadWell they could just release it and then do a recall.
Or let the customers figure it out.
Nah, that never works out. - ib516Explorer IIOr release it, let it fail, then deny the warranty...
Last I heard, it was freeze up in cold weather that was causing the issues. My local dealer claimed he had two 1500s they sold with the 4 corner air suspension that acted up in very cold conditions.
But then I have a friend who owns a grey limited 1500 4x4 with the air suspension who has had no trouble with his.
The option was "unavailable" when I ordered my truck. Maybe thats a blessing as I would have ordered it. - mtofell1ExplorerYeah.... there was a lot of talk about the air suspension but they seem to be a little short on the actual delivery. Honestly, the air suspension is the first thing that caught my eye with the Ram trucks. I ended up buying a 2500 because of the coil rear springs and new Hemi 6.4.
- 45RicochetExplorerYeah I waited for the new 3500 DRW with the air bags...... still waiting. Glad they just didn't release something unproven though like a CP.4. The new air bags sounded nice with air down feature but clearly the legal suits had the final say.
Guess I have another year left in my old girl :W - Bionic_ManExplorerTroller, I am surprised that you don't know someone who has had trouble with the system.
- thomasmnileExplorerMaybe a lame question, but does the system have a dryer incorporated into it like the air system on a Class 8 OTR tractor?

That was my thought too. From what I've seen, it doesn't look like it. Also, besides the extra cost, it would be an item your typical pickup buyer would completely neglect, so I can understand why it wouldn't have one. But, that would also be the reason for cold weather glitches.
I also can't imagine it would be hard to "hack" the system" and add your own dump switch. Shouldn't take anything other than over-riding at most 2 solenoids. - TurnThePageExplorerThe 1500 has a closed system that uses nitrogen, that has reportedly been experiencing cold weather glitches. I'm guessing the HDs are probably using something similar.
- Ram4SamExplorerI guess they could do like Ford does, sell it before the bugs are worked out, let the customers be the test guinea pigs and keep the lemon law attorneys busy........
Sam - ideratherbecampExplorerI just bought a 2014 ram 2500 with the 6.4,4.10 gears and the rear air suspension a week ago. So far it has worked great and ride is great.
