Rancho 9k's carry a lifetime warranty. Take your receipt and defective shocks to the place you bought them. What color is the shock body?
My fear of warranty is I will end up with another set of these... and 12K miles later... :)
They are silver and rust with snazzy red accordion dust boots, that are shipped loose not installed on the shocks, held on with nice zip ties - once you have put them on it will all make sense why the accountants transferred that operation to the customer :)
06Fargo,
We have comparable weather where I live and they salt the roads like crazy. I bought 4 Rancho 9000s (white and rust color) in 2006. In about 2009 the knobs on the rear shocks seized presumably due to all the salt they encounter. I contacted the company I purchased my Ranchos from and processed the warranty through them for the rear shocks. With this warranty exchange they allowed me to upgrade to the new 9000XL model (silver and rust color now). In addition to being my TV this vehicle is also my daily driver and I have not have a problem with the 9000XLs in the rear or the 9000s up front.
The situation you described with the front end bouncing sounds like either our shocks are defective or you accidentally rotated the knobs to the #1 setting instead of the #9 setting. I have done this before. If you can recreate the problem I suggest you initiate an exchange through the company you bought the shocks from.
Thanks for the info - as I posted - I had them replaced 2 weeks ago 1000 miles from home with Bilstein 4600's while on a trip with the 5th wheel.
