If the Mexican Ranger is a BT50, it has been reskinned for the North American market and most likely has other changes. They only offer the 2.5 Gasoline or 2.2 Diesel with manual transmissions in this country.
Will not be offering the Mazda body in the US, the Mazda has the same dimensions as the Ranger. The Mazda and Ranger are mechanical and dimensionally clones of each other., Mazda normally sold with the Ford 3.2 Diesel here. - RobertRyanExplorer

2.5 engine dropped here, but Ford's 2.2 and 3.2 engine offered. Mazda BT 50 and Ranger have same engine options
BT 50 and Ranger, developed initially by Ford, with Mazda having input on their chassis
Interesting comment on the Chevrolet Colorado Diesel from Pickup Trucks. Com
Colorado " Pickup Trucks" Article " Clicky"y
"The addition of the four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine gives the midsize pair better towing capacity than some half-ton V-6 models (Ford and Ram) as well as some half-ton V-8s (Nissan and select Ram models)" - BedlamModeratorIf the Mexican Ranger is a BT50, it has been reskinned for the North American market and most likely has other changes. - monkey44Nomad IIHeard Ford was waiting for OJ to parole so he could make the new Bronco commercials :: running thru the airport to his white get-away truck.
- ShinerBockExplorerWhat does pictures of BT-50 towing small and narrow RVs or other light loads have to do with a topic about the Ranger and the Bronco coming back to the US?

Actually didn't pay any attention to the plate. I observed the clean frame and the fact he was hauling a large safe. It had the longer cab with the small rear/side windows and presumably the jump seats. It was painted gun metal grey.

I also passed what appeared to be a new Mazda pick up truck in Knoxville TN a few weeks ago. Looked very similar to the global Ranger.
I think that something is brewing here in the mid size market. Especially with more and more mandates for emissions and fuel economy...maybe these little trucks are planning a take over of the Half Ton Market with tons and tons of choices.
Thanks!

Mazda is looking at a Toyota tie up instead of Ford for the next BT 50., problems with Ford reliability, it is not Toyota " Unbreakable" Could be very.right about a lot happening to this segment. Look what is happening with Vans - Gonzo42ExplorerActually didn't pay any attention to the plate. I observed the clean frame and the fact he was hauling a large safe.
