I will say that an F450 is probably not big enough for GVWR for a 4600 lb camper unless you buy a flatbed model.
Curious about the 19.5 tires, so looked at a new F 450 on the dealers lot here in town.
A 2016 F 450 crew cab dually diesel. 225/70-19.5 tires.
Camper package.
snow plow package
So my assumptions were it would have the heavy duty springs on it.
The dreaded glove box paper actually recommended a truck camper, even with the snow plow package! Amazing!
But the weight given on that paper said max weight truck camper of 4,038 pounds.
Inside the driver's door, the max payload of the vehicle was given at 4,900 some odd pounds.
I had my Ram along, and just for comparison, my figures were:
glove box truck camper paper: 4,500 some odd pounds
total payload (driver's door) 5,380 pounds.
I should be the poster boy for the trucks you're asking about.
I've owned: 2003 Duramax dually
2006 Ram 3500 dually
2011 Ford 350 dually
2014 Ram 3500 dually.
All diesels. Problems: injectors on my 2003 Chevy.
