Yep it's a California thing, no problems in WA, OR, ID, MT, or UT, in fact they let you go 80 while towing in Utah, just have to stay out of the left lane. 80 with the trailer was a bit much for my wife, I kept it to 75...never understood why I was OK towing at 70 in NV then crossed the magic invisible line and now I'm somehow safer going 20 MPH slower than all the other traffic. That's part of the reason why I'm no longer in the 805, and even with the TC towing my boat I had to follow the stupid 55 while towing law, so it's nothing new. :)
